What can I do to increase battery life in between charges?

Two things you can do to make your battery last longer is dim the tablet’s screen brightness and close applications.

• In order to adjust the Surface 3’s screen brightness, swipe from the right of the display in order to bring up the charms menu. Tap the settings icon and a new set of icons should appear at the bottom of the menu. Tap the screen brightness button that is in the top right-hand corner of the newly appeared icons and a slider should appear. Drag the slider up and down in order to adjust the brightness of the screen. A lower brightness will use up less power.

• There are two ways to fully close applications on the Surface 3. One way is to swipe from the left on the display in order to bring up a list that shows all open applications along with the start menu. From here, take any open application, drag it off of the list to the right, and proceed by dragging it down and off of the screen; this will close the application. An alternative way to close applications requires the use of a keyboard, trackpad or mouse. Again, bring up the open applications menu by swiping from the left of the display; however, instead of dragging the open apps, just right click on them and click “close”.
