Ok for a good while my ps4 is slowly accepting and ejecting disc ..and I mean really slow what I feel may be the issue is the drive motor but there are no videos or guides to even refrance to..is there anyway someone can help me confirm that's the issue and if so how to fix it..thanks

This is a quick fix. All u need is some firm q tips and either electronic spray cleaner or alcohol. lightly submerge the q tip in the solution of your choice the insert slightly in the slot where u install or eject the games. Move slowly to the right until u feel the switch that starts the motor to pull in the game, then quickly move the q tip all the way to the other end where the rollers are and let stay there 30-1min. while doing this the q tip is cleaning the roller while it's spinning freeing up any debris. Pull out your q tip and notice the dirt that has gathered and let it dry for 5 mins and enjoy. If's it still moving slow repeat until back to normal.

Wow to think this annoying issue that has been bugging me for like 3 years when this problem started was just something simple as some dust buildup on the disc track? thanks a lot. Of course I didn't have any Q-Tips but I accomplished the same results with a plastic knife (it's roughly close to the same amount of thickness as a game disk) and with a napkin that I folded around it I just gently inserted it into the disc insertion bay and slightly wiped it from side to side (without any cleaning solution)! Thanks a bunch!

I'll caution that this tends to destroy the fabric in front of the optical drive, allowing for more dust to get in. It didn't really solve my problem, so I had to take the PS4 apart to get at the drive. If you're good with your hands and don't mind a little bit of work, I recommend this video here combined with the Q-Tips and alcohol.

Follow the video, dip the Q-Tips in alcohol and use the manual-eject crank to rotate the rubber bumpers.

Hi Steven. This is actually a fairly common issue with the PS4, and luckily for you, it's very easy to fix. Inside the optical drive there are two rollers and when these rollers get dirty the drive will struggle with inserting and ejecting discs. All you need to do is remove the optical drive and clean the rollers with some alcohol or windex and it will work good as new.

One year question. And heres the answer.
Mine had these issue too. All I did is I opened up the blueray drive and took out the rollers to clean them. They became dirty and they needed some cleaning.
Here's how you can do it:
- Open up the PS4
- Disconnect and take out the power supply.
- Then Idisconnect the blueray drive, screwed it out, and lift it out from the housing.
- Take out the screws that holds the plastic mechanism.
Now you can see the rollers and the laser. Be careful around the laser, dont damage it.
- Now take out the little plastic piece whats between the rollers. After that, you can simply slide off the first one, second one is a bit trickier. You need to pull it gently, don't break it.
- now grab some alcohol and a cotton piece to clean them. They should be a bit sticky after that. That means its okay now. It has a natural stickiness to grip & pull the disc in to the drive. If those become dirty, they lose the stickiness and cant grip on the disc.
Now follow the instructions backwards to reassemble your bluray drive & your PS4. After this your discs can be taken in & be ejected easier. ;)

The alcohol and qtip trick works. I had this same problem on my ps4 slim, I tried this out for the first time and this actually works, if you actually wet a qtip with water (both sides) and do the same trick with the rubbing alcohol, that does the trick, yet I’d recommend waiting a good 10 minutes to let it dry, mine works like a charm.
