Asus Transformer Book T100 Chi Bluetooth keyboard no longer working

I bought my convertible tablet a few months ago. The other day I switched on the Bluetooth keyboard as usual, but the blue light kept flashing and pressing the keys and the track-pad did nothing.

I've had a look elsewhere online for solutions, none of which worked. I looked at my tablet's Device Manager, and the Bluetooth Radio Properties state "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43)." Nice and vague. I've updated the drivers, and uninstalled and reinstalled the device, but the same error persists.

Anyone got any more ideas?

I realize the post is a couple years old but I had the same problem and hope to spare someone else from looking all over the place for the solution. I updated the drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the keyboard and it still didn't work. I ended up having to go into the Bluetooth setting and change the setting in the Bluetooth radio (uncheck the box that says to shut down the Bluetooth automatically if the keyboard batter is low). This finally worked, but I still am having some disconnection issue, because the keyboard won't display the battery power. Least I can type again!

Using the touchscreen keyboard input the "0000" universal code when it asks for the passcode. Then click connect and enter the "0000" on the keyboard and hit enter. This worked for me.

Thanks Ambria Page, the tip with the Bluetooth Radio has solved my problem.

I have a T100-CHI and the keyboard never appeared in "Other Device" list. I finally chose the "+ Add Bluetooth or other device" option at the top. The dialog box box "Add a device" appeared so I selected the first option "Bluetooth". Nothing showed up so I held the bluetooth switch (upper left) on the keyboard to the far right until the keyboard appeared. When it appeared I let go of the switch and selected the keyboard in the list. A dialog box appeared with "Enter the PIN for Asus T100CHI DOCKING". Of course I didn't know the pin so using the onscreen keyboard I typed in my own eight digit key "12345678" and selected connect. I quickly entered the eight digit key in the keyboard and pressed Enter. I had to do follow this same sequence a number of times before I managed to get the timing right but don't give up.

Good luck!

I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out the PIN; of course asus support website does not tell you to create your own PIN and then enter it on the keyboard immediately afterwards.

Thank you, Danny!

Danny Anderson has it right. Enter 12345678 on the tablet keyboard and click connect, then quickly type the same numbers on the real keyboard and press enter. Do it quickly though.

The "do it quickly" part was reallllllyyy helpful

The 0000 worked for me. Typed this in and hit connect and then as it was connecting I entered 0000 + ENTER on the keypad. Don't forget to hit the enter button on the keypad like I did 10 times lol

The answer from Danny Anderson was my help. Thanks allot dude

Tap 00000000 from the screen and press enter, the next moment tap 00000000 from the Chi bluetooth keyboard and press Enter. It will configure. At least it helped me.

I had the same problem: the keyboard fallen appart and didnt want to connect. So I’ve deleted it from the bluetooth list and then tried to connect again. The windows has found the keyboard, and required a PIN but no PIN had been provided, so I didnt know what to type in. The secret is to type the same passwords in the screen and on the keyboard. Good luck

This worked great for me as well. Asus T100CHI just went stupid and I couldn't connect the keyboard for weeks. Because I was getting this stupid message "enter your PIN". Thank you for your help.

Hi,

I have this issue the longest time (mine is Asus T100 CHI), and this article below seems to resolve it for good!

https://mikebeach.org/2014/11/29/fixing-...

Basically, you go to Device Manager and disable the Power Management option for Bluetooth. So it is actually the bluetooth problem of Asus tablet, not the keyboard!

<<Always thought the Dock is bad, i bought another bluetooth keyboard to replace it, and then saw the same problem!! then i realize that’s why my bluetooth mouse also seems flaky… now i know it is actually the bluetooth of tablet’s problem (well, not the hardware but the driver and the power saving option, apparently)>>

Try it and i hope it works for you all too!

Cheers,

Stephen

Forget typing bunch of zero’s, they never work… Try this:

This helped me:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw-S2-6t...

In the video try the first option suggested : Press windows key and R together, in the prompt box type "devicepairingwizard" turn on your device bluetooth, discover your device and click next, then click on the link below the box to see the code, enter the code on your keyboard. That should fix everything.

I hope you find this useful. Cheers.

My old T300 Chi is still going strong after 6 years, but the pairing issue with the keyboard suddenly appeared. I tried all of the tips I could find on the web, and nothing worked. Before buying a new bluetooth keyboard, I tried the reinstall/reset Windows 10 feature built into Win 10. It’s in the Update & Security section of settings, Recovery, Reset this PC. I chose the save my personal files option, and it took more than an hour, but it worked! I could tell it was working even before the update was finished because the bluetooth light on the keyboard stayed lit while the reset was finishing up. And since that light wouldn’t stay lit before, I knew it was a good sign. Once the reset was complete, I started the pairing process, was given a password, typed it, and it paired! I hope this helps someone.
