Why won't my bobi work for more than 2 seconds?

I got Bobi 2 years ago and have never used it. I opened it, charged it and it doesn't work. It will run for about 2 seconds and stop.

Hi,

Here is a link to a video Home Checkup Test which shows how to test that the bObi is working correctly.

However I'm thinking that because of the long time that it has been stored, the battery pack is failing to hold its' charge due to the deactivation of reactants in the battery cells. This leads to increased battery voltage and decreased battery capacity.

To restore batteries to original performance try repeating several cycles (at least 4-5) of charging and discharging the battery.

The simple way to do this is to charge the battery in the normal manner via the charge jack in the bObi. When fully charged is indicated by the bObi, remove the charger and run the bObi until it stops, then repeat the process and see if it runs for longer each time. It should take longer each time to charge and discharge.

If it turns out that the you cannot resurrect the battery by cyclic charging/discharging, a new battery pack can be purchased from bObi https://owners.bobsweep.com/collections/...

Thank you for answering. I have tried taking the battery out overnight, then reinserting it. The battery seems to be charged, but when I ran it through the home test, when it tells you how many times the battery has been charged it says 0.

It says start to clean room runs for one second and shuts off, then when you click it again it says ‘robot off ground all work has stopped’

@bobi sounds like your battery discharged below the charging threshold and/or does no longer hold a charge. A new battery might fix this or you can rebuild teh one you have. It may just require replacing a few of the individual "cells". You would need to know how to solder and remove the plastic wrapper of the original battery to see how they are connected.
