Upgrade logicboard and get my macbook as new

Hey, i have a imac and an old macbook that i would like to upgrade. But i'm thinking to change the logic board and get it as a new macbook or a macbook pro 13,3. Is that possible? Is it worth it to pimp it a little bit, if it's not worth to pimp it to a brand new?

You won't be able to get far changing the logic board, if you have a core duo/core 2 duo, you may be able to upgrade to santa rosa or penryn, which would increase the max ram by 1 gb, but it's not really worth it, I'd just max out the ram and hdd.

You'd need a LOT of modification to even upgrade to santa rosa. All the connectors changed to JST.

Santa Rosa is the chipset that is used in some MacBooks. Please take a run through ID your Mac to determine which model you have. We can better assist you with this information.

Hi, what is santa rosa? And what would you think it would cost about?

Also note you have to be incredibly experienced and capable to upgrade a logic board, if you don't know what santa rosa is, then you may be in for a difficult time.

The macbook 1,1 is actually core duo, not core 2 duo.

Since this is the first ever macbook made, there's not much you can do to it, very old technologies, and a lot has changed. Unfortunately, it seems you're stuck where you are.
