I've tried to disassemble it but the cylinder thingy is frozen. It seems to be frozen in the locked position, even though I've used both the key and the thumb lock to try and unlock it.

lauraevalentine , If this lock set is still installed on door, through the key slot, liberally squirt penetrating oil/ WD40 with a small injecting straw/nozzle and insert key in and out/wiggling and repeat several times till lock set works.
