My iPod is not working is it the battery issue. The yellow light flashes and then disappears

Plug it into your computer, eject it, and leave it plugged in. If this works, keep charging it this way. It means the iPod is trying to sync instead of charging. This glitch may disappear if you restore or format the iPod.
If this method doesn't work, then yes the battery is bad. Replacing it is easier than on the other Shuffle models, but still requires soldering
