Keeps shutting down randomly

Hey guys..

I just bought an Iphone 6s plus from a guy on a place like eBay. He said that the screen has been replaced and there is nothing else wrong with it. I came home and the phone suddenly shouted down. I could not turn it on again with the power button so i reset the phone with home and power buttons. It turned on and a couple of hours after, it shutted down again. I had to use same method for turning it on again.

I opened the phone for see the inside and there was a couple of screws missing :(. So it seems to be a very unprofessional guy who was replaced it.

The battery seems to be new and is not bended or damaged. What can it be? I have checked the serial number on apple.com for battery replacement but the serial number is not included in their "battery replacement" program. And the warranty is gone anyway.

The phone goes off randomly. Sometimes in my pocket and other times on the table.

So what can it be? A screew i have too see if it is there?? The new screen??

Thanks :)

Are you doing anything in particular such as using snap chat or anything like that which could narrow down the problem? Also, is the phone actually shutting down? When the screen goes dark, does it still connect to iTunes? While you were in the phone did you check and see if the liquid damage indicators were white or red? Lastly does the phone have service on it? Have you tried calling it to see if it wakes up when called?

No it shuts down randomly. And yeah the phone shuts down.. When its shut, i cant even find it with itunes..? I have to reset with home button and power button, or else itunes will not find it? And yeah i have tried to call on it but its goes on voicemail. :(

Needs a new battery. Also make sure you discharge the phone, holding down the power button for about four seconds, after you've disconnected everything

But why i cant turn it on again without soft reset it?? Hmm? I dont think its because of the battery? Or am i wrong??

I definately think its the battery. Get a refund, get an iFixit battery. If there should ever be an issue with ifixits products. They stand behind their warranty

Okay thanks for reply.. I will try it :D

Honestly, if you have any recourse with this eBay-like site, I would ask for a refund. This guy sold you damaged goods (probably knowingly). What a coincidence that he sells his phone shortly after having it fixed by someone who did a poor job. Now you are stuck with a non-functional device that will require additional expense.

Stand up for you consumer rights!

The problem is that i live in Denmark. The are some rues here that says if you buy something from a private person and you fond out there is a problem with it, it is YOUR problem and YOU have too prove that the problem was there before you got it. And thats almost impossible :( What can it be?

par

If it's an eBay like site, you should have some recourse. If it is more like Kijiji, then yeah, your out of luck.

I dont know what it is that Kijiji,:D But yeah its not like ebay where you can get refund.. So im out of luck.. What now you think? :)

Hello, so sorry to hear about your issue. This is actually a common issue among the iPhone 6s plus. I personally had a very similar issue with the same phone, mine just completely shut off and would not come back on. All i did was take it to apple, they took the phone in and with in 3 days, i had received a brand new iPhone 6s plus in the mail. These kind of issues are technically not fixable just yet, so your best bet is to take it to your nearest apple store, or call them and send it in. Regardless of the warranty being out, this is not your fault, and they have to replace it.

Hope this was of some help. Have a good day!

@Muhamad, your are wrong, Apple won't replace the iphone and they will not repair it becouze a thirt party have "worked" at the phone, and try to repair things, they will see that screws are missing etc).

I also am having that problem my iPhone 6s plus will shut down almost as soon as I set it down every time. Except when it is plugged in it will stay on all night /day. This started after screen replacement. And I took it into have it fixed yesterday it's not battery they say. Yet they say they can't figure it out either. So basically told me good luck. So I am going to remove screen again and see if there is a loose connection somewhere. But just letting you know it is happening to these phones apparently.

Nightmare here cos my iPhone has gone bonkers. iPhone 6plus shutting down by itself. Battery at 45% but when it shuts down and comes back on it only reads 1% and later goes back to 43%. Help needed urgently

Ademola. Did you get your problem fixed and if yes. What was changed? I have the same exact problem on 6 Plus. I have replaced the battery and it's still behaving the same.
