Is it possible to replace the storage card in a MacBook Pro Touchbar with a larger capacity one? If so - what a reliable source for these?

No, the only way would be to upgrade the logic board as the SSD is soldered to the board.

As an ex-Apple Genius, I can confirm that the MacBook and Newer MBP's (TB) have the SSD's permanently fixed to the Logicboard. There's always cloud based drives, and iCloud that can help to relieve the stress of limited storage, but if you need internal storage, purchase accordingly. It's a lot of money for one of these lovely new machines, don't just purchase on a whim. Know what you are spending all that cheddar on.

I wish I would of known it couldn’t be upgraded before I bought it last year. I’ve always been able to upgrade the SSD. Kind of lame that apple is soldering them to the logic board now. I bought it with a 512 thinking I could upgrade at a later date like I had with my previous generation. What a joke.

Thank you very much for the info!

This made just to make extra cash and save apple the need of handling foreign SSD on their pc if you would bring it for repair.
