abandoned phone, requires code

found beat up 5 no sim. asking for unlock code. is there a way to default this so no code is needed? Iv tried hooking up to itunes. it says I need to unlock it first. Iv tried holding home and sleep/powerdown buttons at the same time. no response. BTW it dosnt seem to want to completely power down, just goes to sleep when I push and hold the power down/sleep button. tried everything suggested. any one know any more tricks?

matt, Read through the link below, it looks like you may have to use a third-party unlocking service if you have very little history on the phone.

the page goes thru the very thing that cant work. this thing has been slightly damaged and dosnt want to power down. the article says that forensic SW can be used but I cannot get it. I stated in the question that this was the case. thanx for playing but ....no cigar.

If you want to get the password off good luck. If your fine with loosing all the data, just hook it into itunes and hit restore

re read my post. it wont go that way if you cant power down compleatley. and I have decided to rip it for parts anyway.
