Have you re-booted the ipad?
Are the little connection pins making good connection?
Are the pins clean and free of debris?
Let me know if this helps.

On mine, it’s always poor contact between the 3 pins on the case and the iPad. Lift the assemble by the center of the top long side, then set down on a flat surface. Mine always starts to work.
