any way I can force the tablet on?

the nook HD plus seems to have a horrible problem with randomly thinking it is overheating and wont turn on after that. ever. it wont take charge because it will reject things at the charger port when it thinks it is overheating. after years of use this finally hit me so that brings the question... is it possible to actually fix this issue or is the tablet trashed? (it has many problems right now and may be trashed anyway but this is problem #1 for fixing it... i have a way to go)

You do not hit several birds with the same stone by suggesting to replace multiple parts. You'll never find the true issue and will just increase the cost for the OP. No guessing. Clarify with the OP first. Focus

I don't know all of your problems, but a new motherboard should fix most of them. A new battery couldn't hurt either, but by then you'll probably be up to the price of a new tablet. Those two replacements should fix anything not screen related. Below are the guides for replacement. You can get the parts off eBay. Hope this helps!

@pccheese why would you suggest to replace the motherboard and the battery? Stick with the issue and do not guess. Always start with the battery then work your way up from there.

"getting a 8" fire tablet for only $80" irrelevant to the question at hand. Focus. It is about repairing the device not about what else could be purchased.
