iPhone won't restore in DFU mode

My iPhone 6 Plus has been stuck in a reboot loop since yesterday (the Apple logo appears repeatedly for a few seconds). I can manage to get it in DFU mode, and get iTunes to recognize it, but once the restore starts (the logo appears on the phone with a progress bar), my phone crashes. iTunes shows error 4013, since my phone reboots after crashing & disconnects.

Any insight on what I can do to fix this problem? Also, could this be a damaged hardware issue? (I previously left my phone on a gaming console that was very hot - although I was still able to use it normally for 2 weeks before it crashed into this reboot loop. I did, however, notice that one side of my screen would occasionally be darker than the other in the last couple days).

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!

Try another battery first. It's one of the most common causes of apple boot loops.

I replaced the battery and it's still stuck in the loop. But thanks for the suggestion

Error 4013 usually points to corrupt NAND, and it sounds like you had a failure of one of the two backlight circuits before this happened. My guess would be that you may have had corruption of one of the i2c main CPU communication lines from the backlight driver that lead to data corruption on the flash memory NAND chip.

Apple can't help you, and common software troubleshooting will not help either since this is a hardware defect.

The flash memory chip can be reformatted, but it requires desoldering the chip from the board and running through a formatting machine, reballing and putting back on the board. That's a major repair and when combined with a backlight fault your best option might be to replace the phone at Apple for $349 out of warranty swap

Ty this sounds like the most plausible cause for my iPhone 6plus failure. I did a battery replacement per apples battery gate disaster and things were looking pretty good for all of 8 hrs. Then it fell into a reboot loop with screen turning off and on. Apple logo on a hard reset or trying to do system restore with computer resulted in the same loop Apple logo followed by endless failed reboot. Just before it “died” everything slowed way way down and struggled to load base apps. Felt like memory or other similar troubles like what I’ve had on older computers. I’m betting during battery replacement one of the frail cables was damaged along with a few other things. Not sure still whether I’m going to stick to Apple after the battery thing and simple hardware frailties (back to brick phone maybe haha). But thank you for this information 12 hours of off and on research and this is the best I can find. All others point to the same things which for me anyway resulted in similar failures.

About error 4013, you can check this tutorial: How to Fix Error 9, 4005, 4013 or 4014 in iTunes?

And you can also try to restore with 3uTools.

Thanks for the link. Sadly I tried everything on the list and my phone is still stuck. I think I'll contact Apple to see if I can get it fixed.

Several methods you can try to figure out this problem. Just as you know, error 4013 occurs where there is a hardware issue inside your iPhone.

Method 1: Hard reset your iPhone

Method 2: Check out the USB cable/port and the version of iTunes

Method 3: Release the storage of your iPhone

Method 4: Restart Your Computer, Reset Your iPhone

Method 5: Use FORecovery iOS system recovery tool to flash the firmware.

Method 6: Try recover by entering the DFU mode
