My phone has gone dead

My Nokia Lumia 520 has gone dead. It's not even able to be read when I plug it in to the computer (I can usually at least access my photos this way). I've taken the battery out and put it back in again - that has helped when this has happened in the past. I guess I'll have to take it in to a shop, but thought I'd try this forum first. Thanks.
