If the stand mixer only runs on the highest speed but not on medium

My stand mixer only runs on the highest speed ,when I turn on the dial ,the switch knob it immediately runs on the last speed ,does not come down to medium or low speed ,what might have gone wrong ? Is it the PCB or just the speed knob / assembly?

Pls advice what is it ? I have accurately described the problem ,it is just THIS problem ,else the stand mixer works fine .

The speed issue could be related to the spark suppression capacitor for the governor. If it shortens out the motor will run at full speed only. The capacitor is located under the Bakelite cover that covers the motor bottom. Remove the cover and you should see the capacitor. You can always post images of what you find with your question by using this guide Ajout d'images à une question existante That way we can see what you see.

If that capacitor is good you can try to adjust the speed by using this guide which should be similar to all Kenwood's. Like @blakeklein already mentioned, let us know what exact model this is so we can help you further if needed.

Can you smell burning? If yes one of the capacitors may have blown. On mine I turned it on it's back and open the catch. Then undo the two screws holding a metal plate and you should then be able to open it further and move the plastic cover out of the way. You should then see the circuit and possibly a blown capacitor. If it is that you can just replace the capacitor. Hope that helps.
