I have a bowers and Wilkins zeppelin. The led doesn’t come on and it shows no indication of power or audio. The lead is fine as it works with another speaker. I have opened it and noticed some discolouration around one of the ceramic disk capacitors could this be the issue? Everything else looks fine.

Hi
This failure is well known, your main board had 5 class D power amp (one for each loudspeaker). In your case the boomer amplifier is in failure , you should change a Pmos Nmos SO8 and two resistors to recover function.
let’s post a picture of your main board (connectors opposite side) I’ll show you the parts involved in this failure

Hello, I think I got you, I have a zeppelin with that same issue, I don’t think I can upload pictures here but the board has one burned ZXMN 6A11 chip,, do I need to replace that one but also the one behind? And which resistors?
@iso14000 could you please tell me what kind of diode I need to buy to fix this, mine is in short circuit, diode behind the resistor under the Pmos Nmos transistor

I have a failed zeppelin also.
That capacitor doesn't look too bad.
On mine, the onboard fuse is blown, and at least 3 of the rectifier diodes.
If you have a multimeter check the diodes for short circuit.
There is a bank of for of them on one edge of the board, and another on un the underside of the board covered in heat paste.
Still workling through what else might have gone...

SOP for all repairs: do we have power. My Air has just done the same as these others. My original Zeppelin is just fine.
Who can you take this to fix? Mine has now the same problem !!!!!

I have been given one of these to repair and am contemplating replacement of the entire SMPS70 board, if only because someone has put a wire link across the blown mains fuse…. not very subtle.

Mine has a pulsing red light when I plug it in, and a loud hum, then after 10 seconds a click and no more hum, red light flashes fast, manual says system fault, that’s not much help..

Yes, just one capacitor 2200uF /16V (high freq. type I think) was enough. It was bold. Beter to make thye new one 2200uF/25V is also possible.

Marlon is referring to the capacitor on the power supply, one of the four next each other right side.
Hello my name is François. I have a Zeppelin (last model) since july 2022. I have a lot of problems with it. It 's out of order now (since yesterday).
No bluetooth connection, no reset, no recognize on my smartphone, Nothing. No light on the different buttons. Just a little sound, a kind of click then clack a few seconds later, as it tries to connect but nothing. Reset doesn't work. I taked off the application Music B&W, I shouldn't have done it. I can not restore it again. No connect, no recognize.
Could you help me?

I had the same problem on my older Zeppelin Version; No more Power :-(
The power supply board had been repaired by a Sound Electronic Technician for $200.

I have a same Zeppelin (2022) like yours and I had a same problem like with yours:

What has happened with your Zeppelin? Is there working or still not?

Same problem too. Asked B&W who just said it would cost £80 to fix and you have to expect such faults in electrical equipment : but this is the second time the power unit has malfunctioned on this Zeppelin in 8 years!

Hello… My Zep. Will go on and work some of the time, and then just shuts off and won’t power up. The red power light will be blank. Then the next day…on again, works…and off again. Is there a recommended service center local in Los Angeles or anywhere trusting to ship to? Please help. I want to keep the unit I love it when its working!

Same problem, No light, Air model 30 pins dock, fuse and capasitors seams fine althow 2 diode's have passages both way, does anyone have a diagram or any suggestions to power it Up.
