Colored Vertical Lines on Samsung LN37A550P3FXZA TV

EDIT III: Hello again, I believe I have located the tabs. Are these the tabs you mentioned?

I also forgot to mention that when I turn on the TV it looks like this:

for the first minute or so then it powers off 1-3 times before turning back to normal with the two sets of lines in the TV. I pressed on the tabs shown in the above images and doing so has produced no result. Are there any other solutions you can think of? Or am I out of luck and would be better off buying a new TV.

EDIT II: Hello, I believe that this is where the ribbon cables would be located but they appear to be underneath the surrounding metal chassis of the TV. Attached are pictures to illustrate this issue. Given this, should I try to remove the metal covers for the board or should I just leave it alone as there is nothing I can do given this issue.

EDIT: Hello, I have attached several pictures of both the lines that appear on my TV and of the internals of the TV. If it is in fact the T-Con board, could you please provide a link as top where I could purchase a suitable replacement. Thanks.

Hello, I have a Samsung LN37A550P3FXZA TV. It has colored lines that run vertically for two inches wide on the left side of the screen. Are there any simple and cheap fixes for this? I have some technical knowledge and would feel comfortable opening up my TV and replacing anything that is necessary.

Mine looked exactly like your pictures. I bot it brand new in 2009 and it did this failure 6-1/2018. I fixed mine by re-soldering four components on my motherboard. Cost was NOTHING. Still working perfectly 90 days after this fix until today 12-15-2018. The fix is in the forum : https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread...

I also bought 10 each of the three suggested replacement parts from China for under $10 just in case the originals ever fail.

I have been looking for some tab bond ribbon that i had go bad. Alibaba.com website i was able to find the tab bonds i am needing. On the site you will need the part number on that tab. It will be the one that has letters and numbers with a dash in the middle. I was able to fix my own tv. Good Luck.

@gres3r1k could be a T-con board error. Simple but not always cheap ;-) Post some images of what your screen displays. Then open it up and take some pictures of all of the boards. Post those as well. Use this guide Ajout d'images à une question existante for that It will allow us to see what you see.

Update (01/23/2018)

@gres3r1k thank you for doing that. Those look like Tab errors. That is where the "bonding" that adheres the thin ribbon cables to the actual panel. Take a really close look at those and apply some gentle pressur on them. You will most likely see that the lines either change or disappear That is incredible difficult to fix but sometimes some downward pressure applied y some adhesive tape etc. can make the m go away for a while at least. If you have trouble identifying the ribbon and Tab just post some more images of what you see on the top of your LCD panel. It should look something like the images I attached.

Hello, I have edited the post with the pictures you have requested. Thanks again!

Hello again, I have edited the post and have run into another issue. The ribbon cables appear to be blocked by the metal chassis of the TV.

par

@gres3r1k definitely a pain and it appears as if you will have to remove all of it to get to your panel. But sometimes it is a saving grace since you could place something like a styrofoam block between the tab and the metal frame to exert the pressure (if you find the TAB that is at fault)

par

OK I'll give it a try. How would I able able to figure out which tab it is?

par

with the TV on and the picture displaying, press on the tab that corresponds with the area where the lines are. The lines will either disappear or change.
