My phone can't find my sim card

So this is the second provider i have chosen to get my sim card running. Still hasn't worked. My phone is a little bent on the top but i dont think that should matter as everything else is working. But going back to the question the device has just stopped working after a week. It's really confusing. The error "Sim card can not be recognized or the internet provider is..." I bought the phone on ebay and i just need help

Options

Either the Sim card is faulty or the Sim reader pins are damaged which would require soldering to fix or replace Sim reader.

Sim pins being damaged is very common for any Sony Xperia phone.
