I took the screen out of one of the laptops and installed it into the other one. After doing this I can only get the display to work in safe mode. I hooked up to a external monitor and it will show until it reaches the windows logo screen and then everything goes black. These are 2 identical computers how come the display is not working correctly???

Sounds more like a software issue than a hardware issue. You might want to try to start windows in safe mode and delete your video driver and start from there.

thank you we installed new video drivers and it works correctly.
