Hi I broke my screen pretty bad and I used superglue. That was 6 months ago and It’s still holding strong and works like the day I got it. The key is to make sure you use something to get any tiny pieces of glass out of any of the cracks, then take your tube of super glue and apply it directly to the cracks in the screen, you should be able to see it go into them a bit. Be sure not to put so much on that it runs off the edge or it will stick your buttons shut, block the speaker or mic, etc. Make sure there is enough though to completely fill the cracks,. Its ok if it builds up and goes onto other parts of the screen. Let dry, I let it dry over night. Then take a razor blade and scrape it off like your scraping paint off. make sure you go perpendicular to the cracks, that way it will not get caught on edges of screen that may be higher than others, but will flatten it out. Keep working at it until all of the extra glue is scraped off your screen. You will be totally surprised, but you will barely be able to feel the cracks at all, and if they are fine enough they will almost disappear. When I first did it I was worried that it would ruin the phone, or scratch the glass, but nope. It was as smooth as when it was brand new. I planned on replacing the screen soon after anyway, so I figured what have I got to lose, well, I am still using it (due to some other unforeseen circumstances), but surprisingly it doesn’t bother me. I have repeated the process 1 time since just for maintenance but it works as when it was new, did not even affect the sensitivity at all. Oh well, if you try it let us know how it worked for you.

Hello William,
The best thing to temporarily fix your screen short of replacing it would be to use clear nail polish. I am not sure how it will affect the sensitivity of it though. Use a very thin coat of it and you should be fine.

I had a terribly cracked screen on a previous handset, and wasn't able to get my new phone for a couple weeks. What I did as a temporary fix, was covered the entire screen with a clear vinyl (usually used as diy window tinting, found at any hardware store or Walmart) worked great. Only issue was it made the “touch screen” more of a “heavily tap screen”. But it protected my fingertips from being sliced to ribbons, and kept any broken glass pieces from falling out completely.

I used tape (NOT A RECOMMENDED STRAT) i hated it because of how ugly it looks and it did nothing.
I would put it in a case With a screen cover in it. so it cant cut you.

Hello. My name is Sam. I got a phone this Christmas. My sister and my nephew came over and he (my nephew) wanted to use it. I let him play on it and he dropped it. Since it was brand new I didn't have a case or even a screen protector for it. It cracked terribly. So I decided to use clear nail polish. The only clear I had was a top coat. So I used it and it worked great!

If the crack is diagonal in any direction, with the supglu tube held up right follow the crack just as you would to apply chaulding to a seam . Do it quick then apply lite pressure to one side of the crack just momentarily release and press once more . To finish quickly with no pressure litely scrape off excess glue . Spider web cracks are different.

I would just get a new glass cover if you can.

I would probably put a screen protector on it, but I have not tried this method so I don’t know how well it works.

For context, I kneeled on my iPad seventh generation as I was getting into bed, right on the home button, heard something break, and wondered what it was. I looked at all the stuff that was on my bed at that time, and it was the iPad screen. It had spiderwebs all over the screen. So tomorrow at 6:20 PM, we’re going to get a screen replacement on it. Mind you I had this thing for less than a month and was waiting for almost a year to get it. I was supposed to be getting an 11 inch iPad Pro, but it got lost in the mail and they weren’t going to ship another one out so I ended up getting an iPad seventh generation that was laying around.
