How to clean potenially burned(?) connector pins?

My V20’s screen stopped working suddenly. I opened it up and spotted lots of corrosion around the connector between the screen assembly and the motherboard. I cleaned it up with some isopropyl alcohol, but I couldn’t get some of the pins on both sides of the connector to look totally gold again. I put it back together and the screen works now with some new ghosting issues, but the digitizer totally doesn’t work. I wonder if these pins have burn marks on them that are preventing them from making a connection. I’ve tried a brush and even scrapping at them a bit with a metal pin, but they still don’t get clean. Here is a picture with red circles around the problem pins. You can see they are gray instead of gold. https://i.imgur.com/qCqvfBh.jpg

Is there something else I can try to get this off?

You've most likely rubbed off the gold or maybe they fell out naturally? Usuay when they won't change back colors it means that they're not even there anymore. At this point you should just replace the entire display.

So yeah, the other day I got a good close up picture of the motherboard side of the connector and saw that the corrosion had entirely eaten away some of the pins. Unfortunately that means replacing the display won't fix it.

Interestingly enough, as it heats up, more and more of the pins start connecting. This proved to be annoying when I was using a USB-C hub to backup my files, because the bottom of the digitizer started glitching out instead of being non-responsive, so it ignored mouse input half the time and kept going to home screen/google search or app switcher.

I've ordered a replacement phone(same model because i really like it). Someday I might try my hand at micro-soldering and replace that connector if I can find a broken mobo to pull one from.
