Panasonic TX-L42E5E vertical line - water damage

Hi,

I’m having issue with my Panasonic TX-L42E5E. After some minor water damage there is a vertical line which “grays” out part of the screen - it is always the same and always in the same position (on all possible input sources hdmi etc.. ). I have opened TV and cleaned power board because it looked somewhat burned ( i will attach the photos ). Tried to touch some of the ribbons when tv was on - no difference.

I can easyily get power board and t con board for replacement however would like to ask experts if this might be the right thing to do :).

Thank you for all suggestions.

I think it happens to me. My Panasonic Tx L42e5e show up one single vertical and coloured stripe. I open the TV for a visual inspection and dust cleaner. I unplug and plug the ribbon cable on T-CON board and the TV show up many vertical stripes spread all over the screen like a code bar pattern. I replace the T-CON board for a new one same model and it did´t work. I could hear the sound but the image was full of vertical stripes coloured like rainbow. I contact Panasonic and they said it was a PANEL issue and they couldn´t repair it because the PANEL model for TX L42e5e it was discountinued... I think my tv is lost... and i have to through it away. I bought a 50'' HISENSE. Goodbye Pananonic. Never AGAIN!!!

@lordoza

the power board does look like it has some hot spots on there. I would use a multimeter and start checking the connector outputs against the voltages printed on the board. It is possibly an issue with the main board which receives it’s voltages from the power board. See if those are all present. Let us know what you find. Also elaborate on the water damage.

Hi,

Thank you for quick response. I just ordered new power board and will update this post upon replacement.

Water damage was a bit of clean water poured from the top of the tv ( exact place where the gray bar is visible ). Water got in to the back of the tv ( back of the power board shows route of the water flow i guess ) and some drops did go on the front of the screen.
