Cant get my speakers to work

I have a 95 Chrysler sebring and the person I bought it from had already installed a new radio. It turned on but didnt produce sound so I went out and bought a new radio and speakers and put them in the radio turns on but no sound. I read something about a factory amp? I've looked through the car didnt see anything
