The top half of my laptop is severely warped

Someone gave me a Chromebook 15 recently. The top outside is severely warped causing it to not close flat and there is a bump through the middle of the outside the width of the laptop. The screen is still flat however, is no longer sealed around the edges in spots. Other than that there are no cracks or breaks anywhere on it. I haven't tried to power it up yet to see what, if any damage that way yet, I wanted to get some feed back on this first .

If I'm reading your post correctly, it sounds like the only problem you're seeing with the laptop you got is that the top cover, the one the LCD is attached to, is warped but does not appear to be otherwise damaged, and the LCD screen itself appears to be intact, is that right?

Generally speaking, if the LCD is intact, chances are pretty good that powering up the computer shouldn't cause problems; if it was my computer I'd give it a shot.

I've started work on a guide to replacing the display housing, but it's not far enough along to be helpful to you, plus it's for a CB3-532 rather than your model. However, I do have a guide for removing the display assembly that looks like will work for your computer: Acer Chromebook cb3-532-c47c Display Assembly Replacement - iFixit Repair Guide

Once you've got the display assembly off, follow the screen replacement guide for your computer: Acer Chromebook 15 CB5-571-C09S Screen Replacement - iFixit Repair Guide

After that, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out how to disassemble the hinges and pull the camera and antennas and swap them to a replacement housing.
