Keyboard battery not charging

Out of the blue, battery 2 (the battery located in the keyboard) stopped charging and is now permanently at 0%. When the Surface book and the keyboard are connected bettery 1 (the battery located in the screen is charging normally).

I tried replacing the battery in the keyboard, but it didn't help. What do you think could be the solution? I tried to find a replacement GPU board without success.

Nope. It needs a replacement of the logic board inside the keyboard. Couldn't find a replacement logic board and a new keyboard is expensive considering that it's an old machine. You find from now and then second hand keyboards around, but didn't bother to look for it actively.

Hey. I’m not sure what you mean by gpu,but as long as the surface tablet works fine, you can probably get a new keyboard. It’s really down to the possibility of a power management issue in the keyboard. This can be a loose connection somewhere,a damaged component, etc. You may want to look into buying another keyboard for it.

As an electrical engineer i am trying to hunt down a similar problem. i have an undesirable voltage on my battery cells and my laptop charger is not propagating through the board. so i am trying to go through the chips to make sure things are turning on but some how 15V is creating a 3.3V rail. but my input protection mosfets are not turning on to allow the 15V to go to the battery charger.

Ok I have the same issue that the keyboard stopped working, so (don't laugh) I pulled the keyboard of the surface, spit on the terminals and rubbed very hard to kind of clean them, and walla my keyboard now works.... :-) Hope this works for others its worth a go...
