I recently installed Windows 7. I have already done updates but still not working. My laptop originally had windows vista basic. Is there anything I can do to get the SD memory card slot to work?

Try reinstalling any drivers that came on the recovery disks.

According to MSFT any drivers for Vista will work with Win 7. Ralph
Yes, but it's possible some drivers got deleted during the upgrade, therefore, reinstalling the drivers would work, as, as you say, any drivers for vista will work with win7
