Replace digitizer / screen, now abnormal factory reset.

I broke the digitizer and LCD on my S7. I was able to get another phone and transfer my account to it. However, there were some apps that I lost data from and I lost my home screens. I kept my phone charged until I could order a replacement screen assembly.

Before I replaced the screen assembly, I used the recovery menu to turn the phone off. I was able to replace new screen/digitizer assembly and put the phone back together. When I power the phone on now, it goes into the initialization screen and says something about an abnormal factory reset and wants me to sign in to a WIFI network.

Is there anyway to recover the data on the phone?

What’s up, Bill? Have you tried signing in, via Wifi, to see whether you would be able to recover your data?

I did. It wants to have me sign in to my goggle account again. I did this step previously with the new phone. Most, not all of the application data and settings were recovered.

Oh okay. That’s good that most of the data was recovered. However, what data has not been recovered? I know that some applications on phones do not store data in their servers to protect consumer’s privacy, and you may have to contact the developpers directly to try to get that info back.
