From the looks I’d say nobody can fix it, as the main cable has been ripped very close to the button, no room to work on it. You can try at Apple, they’re the only ones who can program a working button to get back the touch ID. If you can live without fingerprint recognition you can install a third party home button such as the JC or HQ, they are not perfect but they’re decent replacements for the return to home function.

I have done that of course. I want to fix the original touch ID.

Agree, realistically, this is not repairable, certainly not economically viable for a tech... way too much time involved compared to what you can charge in relation to what Apple will charge.

Will apple change it even if my phone has been opened? I thought they won't touch a phone that has been opened?

@Alex B To be honest I've not been in a Apple service for....ever..but unless warranty is in picture I can't see any good reason why they wouldn't want to fix it, it's easy money for them.

You can program an on screen home button from the setting menu completely by passing the touch home button. Go to Settings-Accessibility-Touch-Assistivetouch(On)-Single-Tap-Home. If you didn’t get all that there’s a youtube video you could view that shows you how.
