6 red blinks and nothing

Hello,

I have five years old Sony Bravia KDL-40W600B. Two months ago my TV broke down with the 6 blinks symptom. I browsed the internet for some solution and finally ordered via eBay Sony A-1983-521-A LD Board and replaced it. Everything was fine until yesterday when my TV broke down again with the 6 blinks symptom. Please advise me what to do?

Update (01/21/2020)

There is one very interesting thing. When I bought a replacement board the back side of it was green all around. Now I see it's discolored under one of capacitor like on old board. Maybe this fact can help to trace up an issue.

Solution retenue

@loravadim this could have been caused by a lesser quality replacement board. There is always a possibility that your LED backlights are causing this but at this time I would go ahead and replace it once more . I’d consider a different source for that board. Let us know if the new board resolved this issues.

@loravadim it is one of the IC's that overheated. If you can get a couple clearer picture we might identify the type and model of it and determine if this is a common failure. It is possible that this is one of those boards that is "meant" to fail after a while by using substandard parts.

@loravadim identified the IC as a BD9397EFV LED driver. Yours obviously failed and possibly because of an overvoltage

A replacement board is less expensive than to get it repaired. I wonder if your board just gets to many power spikes. You may consider a surge protector and give that a try. Again, it may just have been a substandard board.
