Back cover removal - seems stuck.

Hello,

I’m trying to remove the back cover from the Samsung PS-50Q96HD Plasma TV. It’s proving to be be more difficult than I expected.

I’ve removed all the screws from the back cover, as well as the stand, yet still the back cover won’t come off. There seems to be some resistance around the bottom of the back cover. If I pull and try lifting, it looks as one of the ports (PC IN / AUDIO ) is moving along with the cover, so when I lift the cover, the port is lifting up as well. It’s like the cover is stuck on that port.

Is there something I’m missing here? I’ve checked for any hidden screws and I see nothing. The cover comes off from everywhere else, it’s just something around the area of the PC IN / AUDIO port that’s stopping the cover from freeing.

I’ve tried to find some guides online for disassembly, but I can’t find anything for this model.

hardstylez122  take a look at your cover. You may have to remove the two (2)Hex nuts for the PC input. If all of that looks okay consider posting some good pictures of your back cover etc. with your question so that we can see what you see. Ajout d'images à une question existante

I see 2 hex nuts. I thought they weren’t removable. Looking now, I guess that's why the back cover refuses to come off. It's that area that's stopping the cover from freeing itself.

Are they removed with a certain type of screwdriver? If so, which one?

Use a small socket etc. Left for loose will take them off.

It was the two hex nuts that were the issue. I got them removed with some screwdriver I had with the iFixit tool kit.
