iPad Air 3 touch screen not working after screen replacement

I replaced the touch screen on the iPad Air 3 with a premium quality part. However, the touch screen is not working but the iPad is displaying fine. Before replacing the screen, the old screen was cracked but the displaying and touch element was working.

Does anyone have any advice or any idea what could be causing this issue?

Thank you.

Did you disconnect the battery prior to fitting the screen assembly? If it was still attached, you have most likely blown a filter beside the connectors. Have a look around the connectors, usually the filter will look darkened compared to the others or burnt up. It would need to be replaced in order to get the touch working again.

I tried to, but I don't think I did it properly, because I found it extremely difficult to connect the cables on this one. I never had a worse one. The cables were so short and my hands barely fit. I wish I could figure out a safe way to do this model. I have done the 11" pro, and it was also very bad, but it was not as bad as this model. Thank you for your input.

Sometimes this filter gets blown even with the battery disconnected, it’s probably due to residue electricity in the circuit

Are the connectors fully in place?

I think so. However, I will disconnect and reconnect again just in case.

I am finding the iPad Air 3 very hard to work because there is next to no room to connect the cables. I gave up on screwing the cable shield because the angle was too difficult.

There are no good videos on YouTube on Air 3 screen repair. I am surprised iFixit haven’t done a screen repair video on this model.

When this happens, most of the time is because a small filter on the logic board located gets burned ( usually due to ESD), this filter is usually located around the lcd connectors. You should be able to see it at the microscope

I suppose if the damage is logic board, it is probably not an easy repair them!

Is not that easy without the right equipment, however if you know someone who works on logic boards will help you for sure.

This filter is easy to replace it because there is enough room around it to work with.

If you don’t have a new filter don’t worry, just connect the two pins

The connector might be damaged. I had that with mine too. It wasn’t an original display and the connectors were trash really thin and difficult to attach.
