Suzuki GN250 Headlight and Brakelight Issue

I have a GN250 that the previous own has modded to a cafe racer build. It has an aftermarket new turn-signal/headlight switch and tail light.

The new switch is one that has:

• Indicators
• High/low switch
• Pass trigger
• Horn

The issue I have is that when the ignition is on, the headlight and taillight do not light up. However, if I hold down the Pass trigger, the head light turns on. If I switch to high-beams whilst holding down the trigger, the tail-light will also light up.

Can anyone understand why this is happening, and how I can re-wire it so the lights will be on for normal use?
