My speedometer not working but everything else works all my gauges
I have a 1985 Chevy blazer s10 my speedometer not working but everything else works all my gauges does anybody know?

LiLBO1D3R your 1985 speedometer is cable driven. If it is not working your may have a broken Speedometer cable, a busted gear in the transmission or a broken speedo.
You can check your speedometer by removing the instrument cluster and then using a drill with a small bit or hex bit. Stick that into the back of the speedometer and give it a spin. If it doesn’t show anything on your speedometer you may have a broken spring in the cluster. Most commonly so it is the cable.

It's depends on if it has a speedometer cable or speed sensor. First verify which one it has. If it has a cable unhook it from the transmission and the speedometer and see if the cable spins at the speedometer while someone turns the cable at the transmission. If it's not turning it needs a new cable. Be careful because it might have two cables. It could be the gear in the transmission. It could be the speed sensor if it's electric. It could be a electrical issue with the speedometer if it's electric. It could be the speedometer head if it has a cable. You first need to find out if it has a cable or a sensor and go from there.
