Can I just swap motherboards between SM-T800?

I have two SM-T800 tablets: one is a 64Gb version (Titanium color) with a shattered glass and the other is a 16Gb version (white). Can I just swap the motherboards or is there some minute difference in size or something ? Do I need to swap the home button part too for the fingerprint reader to still work ?

I have seen that it is possible to replace just the glass on this AMOLED screen but would rather attempt it on the 16Gb version than the 64Gb one. (I hate Samsung for not allowing adoptable storage on those devices. 16Gb on those is a pain, especially when they bundle 650Mb for Powerpoint in main memory)

You were right. I just swapped the motherboards and everything is fine, including the fingerprint scanner. Getting just the motherboard out was actually pretty simple. I was a bit surprised by how few components were there. One side of the board is almost empty and the other has a huge empty space on one side. That empty space had copper pads for more components on the 16Gb board but just blank (well, green) on the 32Gb.

Hi Eric, I'm about to attempt this exact procedure - albeit with a 32GB SM-T800 whose LCD is shattered and a used unit (prob 16GB) off eBay . My son is quite attached to the Minecraft worlds on the 32Gb one. :) The videos I've seen of SM-T800 teardown make it look like the motherboard is all the way at the bottom of a hundred glued parts. Is that not so?

The first teardown took an hour and a half (due to an abundance of caution and constant checking back to the repair guide here), the second one took 10 minutes. Successful brain transplant accomplished.
