Video Game Creative Inc. … cleaning out the fan and housing is a good place to start and keep up with on a regular basis to prevent such issues. However, if this system has never been serviced before and overheated due to clogging, its safe to say that the processor has overheated. this can cause one of two issues, one of which you can fix easily, the other youll need the tools and skill to repair. (or pay someone)
1) the thermal paste between the processor and the heatsink attached to the fan housing has a limited life span of efficiency. this is cut drastically shorter if it gets to the point of overheating due to clogs. to fix, youll want to get back into the unit and remove the fan housing, and the processors heatsink. there you can clean the old thermal paste off of the processor and the heatsink and reapply. this should solve the remaining overheating issue, unless it is problem number two.
this guide will get you to where youll want to be for this. not replacing the heatsink so can skip the last step. you should be able to see the processor chip with paste on it and the back side of the heatsink will also show paste/ residue. clean both of these with isopropyl alcohol and and reapply a good quality thermal paste.

2) when the processor overheats, especially if it shuts down and you turn it on immediately several times after…. it can get to the point where the solder balls underneath the processor melt and reform upon cooling. this can lead to a poor, cracked or non conductive/ limited conductive connection. to fix this, you can attempt to heat and reflow the chip to fix any of these issue. hope this helps.
