Why does my unit keep scrolling through functions, instead of playing
My unit (I said unit!) keeps scrolling through functions instead of playing Pandora or Audio/BT?

It sounds like a button is stuck. Check all the front buttons, especially the SRC button to make sure it isn't gummed up or stuck pressed in. Tap all the buttons a few times to make sure they all return to their normal resting position and aren't stuck. Remove the faceplate and clean off both sets of electrical contacts. Check those contacts to make sure they aren't bent or damaged. Also disconnect any USB devices since the deck auto-switches to USB source and that sometimes confuses the head unit. Also un-pair any Bluetooth devices just to rule that out too.
