Replaced Power Supply and Fan spins at full speed, iMac does not boot.

I suspect that the SSD temp sensor is bad. I installed this sensor years ago when I replaced the HDD, then later upgraded the HDD to SSD… so maybe the sensor is bad… I’m not sure.

I did order a new sensor:

OWC In-line Digital Thermal Sensor for 27-inch iMacs (macsales.com)

https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/DIDI...

I’m hoping it will fix the issue with the fan running at full speed when I power on the iMac.

If that does not fix it… I might have to replace the logic board. Not sure what the issue could be.

You may be able to put iStat on there and figure out which sensor is acting up. From there you can formulate a plan to fix.

sorry, I missed that. Are you seeing anything on screen when it tries to boot?

@memphismac No, not seeing anything... I'm pretty sure it's the logic board... because I connected the original HDD and still nothing.

Just to be clear the iMac is not getting any power or anything right?

I guess next step would be to open it up, plug it into power and look at the diagnostic LEDs and see what they are showing. LED 1 means it's getting trickle voltage to the logic board. If LED 1 doesn't light up then it's most likely the Power Supply. LED 2 will turn on when you push the power button and the computer begins to startup.
