New iFixit batter won’t charge

I ordered a new battery for an iPhone 4. After installing it, the phone would start up and preform normally but wouldn’t charge. When I put the old battery back in it did charge. Is this a software issue, or did I get a defective battery and deserve a refund?

If the old battery is charging and the new one doesn’t charge it is most likely that you have received a faulty battery. Ask if you can return this battery and have it replaced by a new battery.

Thanks. I contacted iFixit and they are sending a replacement.
