iPod 4g new battery not charging.

The battery may be faulty or the charging port. I would suggest clean the battery connector with isopropyl alcohol. If that does not work you may have a faulty battery. To see if you do try placing the original battery and see if it charges. If the original battery charges and you bought the new battery from ifixit then email support@ifixit.com and say that you have a faulty battery and they will send over a new one. If both the new and old batteries will not charge then it could be the charging port. Apple soldered the charging port directly to the logic board to the only way to replace the charging port is to replace the whole logic board.
