Why is my xbox not powering on?

I have an original xbox that is not turning on. When the power button is pressed, the hard disk spins up, but no light appears and no output is detected. I have swapped the power cable so I know it isn’t an issue. The hard disk has also been upgraded to a sata drive. It’s a r1.6 xbox if that helps.
