Controller Not Charging, No LED

Hey all,

My friend gave me a ps4 controller they bought second hand complaining of drift, but when i got it it wouldn't turn on. I did the normal charging from different ports and cables but nothing changed. Ended up replacing the battery and charging port (testing after each) and still no luck. Even the front port fails to get a response.

I'm stumped, has anyone seen this problem before?
