3 seconds sequence ghosting

Sony Bravia 42" LCD TV KD-49x7000D

Hi I have been having an issue with my TV as you can see on the pictures the image is fine for 3 seconds then has a ghosting effect for 3 seconds then back to normal.

This just goes on and on.. I thought it was a flat cable issue on the T-Con PCB but while moving the cable gently around there is no effect to the issue so my guess is a IC chip or Quartz that is defected but Id like a second opinion please

Thank you

@mishane what does your onboard menu look like? Does it do the same thing or is it clear? What exact model is your TV?

par

@oldturkey03 Yes it does the same thing on the onboard menu.

This is the model Sony Bravia 42" LCD TV KD-49x7000D

@mishane i also had the same model with the same issue which i have only used for 1 yr and 3 months. i've took it to the service center, the panel is goneeee

I've had the same problem on my Sony 42" and it started a few days ago. I'm not technical though so advice to "check the board" means little to me.

@mishane since it does show the same thing on the menu my first step would be to change the main board. If it would not have done it with the menu I would have started with the T-con board.

Ok Thank you what would cause this? I was gonna diagnose the Master board and replace a component instead of replacing the entire board

@mishane I agree and it would be the right thing to do. Post some pictures of your boards so we can try and identify those. REmember that you will need the schematics etc. which are most of the times not available.

par

@oldturkey03 Yea i figured after hours of looking.. Ill post the pics shortly

par

@mishane Since it does it on the menu as well my first suspect would be the main board followed by t-con. After that it gets tricky since it could be the panel......but try the simple things first.

@mishane did you end up finding the cause of this issue?
