what is this paste on this part i’m changing the housing and if I dont put this paste on the new housing will it short the phone or do I not need to worry about it if I need to add more paste where do I get it

It is only adhesive to hold the chare port cable down. It will have no impact on the workings of the phone if not replaced. I would put a little double sided tape on the new housing so charge port is secured.

so if i dont add any when i move the parts in the next housing it wont short right?
