Can you modify the desktop charging stand to add a USB port?

I always thought it was a missed opportunity that Plantronics made a desktop charging stand (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/9...), and didn't add a USB port to it so you could plug the Bluetooth USB dongle into the stand instead of needing to use two USB ports on your computer. Has anyone tried modifying the stand to add a USB port?
