How much storage can a 5th gen iPod have?

So I recently found an 80 GB Ipod 5.5th gen in my drawer, It had loads of songs on it, and a couple of weeks ago the place where you insert the battery ribbon cable into the motherboard popped of the board! So if I get a new 32 MB 820-1975-A motherboard, what is the max amount of usable storage it can have? Or, is it possible to put the connector back on the board? The pins have broken of from the board. And the display has a lot of dead pixels, would this fit?: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32860017... It says gen 6, though.

The part that broke was this one

Hi

I can see that you are trying to fix your iPod (my favourite thing to fix) and here’s some answers

The screen is a 6th gen screen so don’t buy it because it won’t work.I would try eBay for a 5th gen screen

If you can show me a photo of what part of the connector is on the board and what part has fallen off I can help you with that

And last but not least the max ammount of storage a 5/5.5gen iPod classic can take is 1TB but the amount of songs that is on it can change that

Hopefully this answers your question

Thanks :)

if the connector broke of the logic board, there are two (or three;-) solutions. One is to get another connector from an old logic board and have somebody knowledgeable with SMD components solder it on. The other way is to replace the logic board.

Now if you are really good and know how to solder etc. I suggest you check the answers on here SOLVED: The Brown connector broken. - iPod 5th Generation (Video) - iFixit It'll show you how to possibly fix the traces. Of course, your traces may look different and are not as or more destroyed. We would need to see what you are up against. Post some good pictures with your QUESTION so we can see what you see
