You've already done the first step toward fixing your phone, that of cleaning the charging port. Obviously that didn't fix the problem, so now we have to investigate further.

It seems you're not getting a good connection between the charging plug and the connector inside the phone. Since that connector is in constant use, being plugged and unplugged daily, it will eventually wear out, but it could also be a problem with the cord itself.

The next obvious step is to try a different charging cord. A newer cord could give you a better connection even if the charging jack on the phone is worn, but it may not.

If the behavior doesn't change with a different cord, then the port itself may be worn out. You can try looking inside the port with a magnifying glass and a bright light and see if you can find any bent or broken pins; sometimes you can straighten them with a pair of fine tip tweezers. Otherwise, at this point you will probably need to replace the charging port itself.

On your phone it's not too bad of a repair; unfortunately iFixit doesn't have a guide for that, but there is one over at a French site called SOSav.

012 Bhargavi Dhoble and in the process of changing your charging port, go ahead and repalce the battery as well. If this is still the original, it is getting to a point of needing to be replaced soon anyway. While you do the repair, create the guides for iFixit. That will help the next person that has issues like your phone. https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/new It is not difficult to create those and is helpful to the community.

I have the same problem and phone Redmi note 6 pro, I changed many chargers and data cables but could not find any solution, replaced charging jack also but couldn't find a change, my phone sometimes doesn't response if charger is connected or keeps connecting and disconnecting every 20/30 seconds or often decreases charging instead of increasing.

I have the same phone and problem Redmi Note 6 Pro, and charger automatically connects and disconnects again and again automatically or sometimes drains battery / decreases instead of charging the battery or sometimes doesn't respond as charging while charger connects. So, I usually charge the phone after switching it off to make sure battery is not decreasing instead of decreasing but that doesn't stop it from connecting and dictating ting ting again n again. Well, time to buy a new device or change it with a used midrange phone.
