WSFC3M17 dishwasher wash cycle pump protection cover

Trying to fix my dishwasher I removed the wash cycle pump protection cover which when I read the manual said in bold letters, never remove it! I need advice on how to place it back. It doesn't clip back to easily and need advice on how to do it. Thanks.
