Why won't new battery recharge

I replaced the battery with a new one from ifixit. I charged it as advised at 100% for 2 hours then ran the battery to 0 as advised but now wont recharge. Its completely dead. The screen is black and shows nothing when plugged in to charge. Ive left it for hours on different recharging stations but nothing. Ive opened it back up and the battery ribbon was connected. Ive reconnected it but still nothing. Could it be a faulty battery? Any ideas please?

So I changed the battery for a replacement sent by ifixit and checked connections were good and tried again. Nothing happened straight away but then it did turn on. I couldn't tell if it was charging or not as it shut down. I managed to turn it on again but it made a series of clicking noises and the an audible beep. Three notes: high , low, high then shut down. It seems totally dead again. I know the battery is still charged as its fresh out of the box and showed a good 3/4 charge on the screen before it turned off.

Does anyone know what the beeps meant and have any idea whats wrong with it? Thanks .
