Ripped off power supply pads. Can I fix it through the other side?

I ripped off the pads of the power supply connector and though 2 of them are still good to go, the other 2 are completely gone. I’m not quite understanding it because it seems these pads go nowhere. Should I fix it through the other side of the board? How would I know the pinout? Model is CUH-1116a.

Thanks!

@dushku I’m in Brazil, unfortunately 😞 but thanks anyway!

Would it be a problem if I solder jumpers from the psu directly to the power supply board?

Thais, the thing about vias is, they go all the way through the board. So if you have a piece of very thin wire, thin enough to fit into the via, you can insert it into the via then flip the board over and see the via where it comes out. If you scrape off the solder mask on the opposite side and solder the wire to that, then you have the original electrical connection in that wire. Bend the wire down and make yourself a new pad with some copper tape then solder your wire to that pad. Glue the new pad to the circuit board with epoxy and you should have a usable connection.

It's basically the same thing you need to do to the other pad, with the exception that there's enough copper left on the other one that you can solder to it.

Yikes! This happens a lot on the Pros. A couple times on 1200s. Never seen it on an 1100.

The pad on the bottom left goes straight to that via above it. It should be relatively easy to scrape off a little solder mask to expose copper.

The other missing pad looks similar, but with the topical copper ripped off of even the via. That one will be hard to solder there and/or re-route.

Will require some wire/lugs, some solder mask, and something to glue down the socket to the board once the new "pads" are built.

If you're in the US, I'd be happy to do the repair for you as I already have the tools and supplies, and experience rebuilding these.

Yes I did. And yes, you can. Though it will not be future serviceable. Like I would literally leave a post it not on the PSU saying that the leads are soldered onto the motherboard.

Guys, what about these pins? Aren’t they the same as the ripped pads?

I would scrape and expose the oval and solder the connector with the ripped pad to that as you can see the trace going to it. Also you could bridge solder from the small piece still on the board. Use some sort of strong glue to hold the connector firmly to the board once tested.
