Is it possible to clean the earpiece?

My earpiece has been very muffled for the last year or so, making it so quiet that I can only take calls on speaker or bluetooth. I saw that replacing the earpiece speaker/sensor assembly would make FaceID no longer functional and I'm not skilled with microsoldering to just replace the earpiece, so I was wondering if anyone has had success with removing the screen and cleaning the earpiece to get rid of muffling.

Your ear speaker mesh is full of crud. It's not a speaker issue. You need isopropyl alcohol and a soft tooth brush to clean it. That or have a shop do it.
